Adventure Day One –Meet Rita
May 20, 2008 – You need to see a light at the end of the tunnel, and not from another train coming your way. Rickey’s brother died of leukemia. Rickey didn’t believe the odds were in his favor. Then one day, there was hope, a light, there was a success story . A young mother, diagnosed with AML who fought to survive because she wanted to watch her children grow up.

UPDATE ON MY LATESTEST ADVENTURE
I’ve started my second day of chemotherapy. Everything so far is encouraging. The staff is very supportive and knowledgeable and I think we make a good team. Everyone is surprised that I’m not showing any outward symptoms. PJ spent the day with me yesterday. She is all my encouragement. The most exciting news so far is I met one of my nurses - Rita, who also has AML; she has had it for 25 years, yes, 25 years! This was so uplifting because I was in the gloom and doom stage. This puts a whole new light on our journey!
Love, Rickey
