Adventure Day One – Starting over “Round Two”
August 1, 2008 – Reflecting on “Round One” terminology – Rickey referred to his first regimen of chemotherapy that was ineffective as “Just a Speed bump not a road block” – very typical of his attitude, always positive - we both saw life as winning, it was just a matter of time. We never really understood the danger Rickey was in and the real road block that was just around the corner…

Adventure Round Two - Day 3
How do you wish for something that you know you want but aren’t sure what it looks like…in retrospect “Round One” was a breeze but did not work…. in contrast to “Round Two” which is not being kind - but with the hopes that it works.
I am writing the update today. This time the journey is different and it has been a tough two days, the higher dosage of chemo has started to wear Rickey out and he maintains a low grade fever. Last night he started experiencing slight breathing spasms. You can see it in his eyes that this time it hurts, and this time more than ever he needs your prayers. They have ordered a test to check his lungs out as a precaution and put him on oxygen.
Needless to say, I wish he was more comfortable, but whatever it takes to get him into remission we will face together with the help and prayers of all of you.
Please continue to be strong and pray…prayer does work!
Much thanks and love to all,
PJ
Prayer became a focal point for us during this trying time of our journey. I was compelled to share our story with strangers and to my surprise they would always respond with asking my husband’s name. One day it dawned on me, they were asking his name to add it to their prayer list.
Until our next blog – remember life is an adventure, embrace the journey. You can make a difference one day at a time.
Share your adventure with us!
